Hello everone! Just sitting on the big front porch, listening to the wrens chat-chirping and watching the ginormorous load of fresh string beans whizzing by, feeling that life is good here in Hancock. The lakes are up, the sky is vivid blue, and our guests are loving it here! Just hanging out with a mug of fresh-ground Jamaican Blue coffee, it's a treat catching up on what's going on in Florida, Chicago, and Cable, Wisconsin. We still have a room left for next weekend and the 15th Midwest Recumbent Bike Rally.Dr. Gary Lesko introduced us to the fantastic folks at the Hostel Shoppe in Stevens Point. A big shout-out to the Hostel Shoppe--they are linked up on our site. Their bikes are totally amazing. Stay in shape, join the rally, and chill at the Walker House, where you are always at home!

Hello Everyone! Welcome to the Walker House! We have guests from Virginia and will have a full house over the Fourth! Sue and I are really pleased to see the B&B component of the Walker House gaining a following. We are looking forward to a month of great activities and things to do here. On the 4th is the parade & Street Dance sponsored by the Hancock Lions Club. We have great golf, hiking, fishing and boating in the area. Of course, the Walker House is a terrific place to just chill out on the Big Swing on the porch. The herb garden is really in gear and we have fresh basil, oregano, cilantro, and thyme to add a kick to our hors doeuvres recipes.

Hi Everyone! Spring had really arrived! We are putting in our annuals and continuing to work on our landscape plan. Of course, the fresh herb garden is important to our menus for breakfasts and snacks. Fresh basil, thyme, rosemary add flavor and interest to our recipes. Most guests arrive in time to enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres, glass of wine or cup of tea on our fabulous front porch, or out on the grounds. Question of the Day (QOD!) What’s your favorite hors d’oeuvres?

Hello everyone and welcome to the Walker House Blog!

Sue & I welcome your ideas and feedback in order to
make the Walker House the best that it can be for our
guests.

We are just coming off a terrific weekend workshop
with noted photographer Grace Natoli Sheldon.
Everyone had a great time, picked up valuable
photography tips and techniques, and enjoyed their
stay.  They loved Sue’s great cooking & treats, too!

We are looking forward to the upcoming Memorial Day weekend and look forward to meeting our guests.  There are still a few rooms left.

The Walker House is beginning to host business travelers who are looking for a quiet, value-added experience connected to their stay.  Our location, just a half mile east ofI-39 Exit 131 is just 30 minutes from either Stevens Point or Portage, and an hour from the Madison or Oshkosh areas.  If you haven’t tried a B & B for business travel, you should give it a try!

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to the first edition of the Walker House B&B Blog.  I am Mike Dietz and through our blog want to share some of the excitement and passion that Sue and I have for the Walker House at Hancock, Wisconsin.  It’s a great opportunity to regularly share with you many of the things that are happening in our world.

Right now we are thrilled to announce that we are receiving a number of reservations for a one day photography workshop on Saturday, May 17th  with our good friend and award-winning photographer, Grace Natoli Sheldon.   Everyone will have an opportunity to improve the level and overall quality of their picture taking technique and composition.   There is still room for you to register for this chance to learn from a real pro!  There are still a few rooms available, too.   Either call at 715-249-3100 or email me at mdietz@walkerhousewi.com for additional information.

Sue and I hope that you will take a few moments to explore the Walker House website, and consider staying with us if you are traveling to beautiful Central Wisconsin for fun or on business.  Either way, you’ll feel right at home!
