It's really warm today. We are putting in the airconditioners. Today is officially the start of summer, the longest day of the year and our 35th wedding anniversary. Spent a couple of days at our cabin in Wausaukee. It sure is beautiful up here and so quiet. Great to just relax and listen to the river. This is a picture of the river. Had a friend, Bo, up to visit and he ended up planting flowers. Careful when you drop in. You may be put to work, although we will feed you.

Today I am tearing apart the pantry to put in a first floor powder room and a serving sink and cabinet on the other side of the hall. After 100 years there are many things to keep us busy.

The official start of summer is just a few days away. Let us know if we can help you with your summer plans. In the past week or so we have reconnected with old friends and neighbors. It is amazing how quickly you can pick up a friendship when the frienship was true to start with. There is still a lot to do at the Walker House. It will be one hundred years this year. Someone once told me, "you never get done, you just quit". We're not quitting. It is a labor of love. Our sons have all moved out of state and we wil be visiting them on occasion, however we will do our best to meet you needs. Sue

Winter get away

The winter doldrums are upon us.The ground hog saw his shadow and we have 6 more weeks! We have lots of snow still, the lake is frozen over and it's not too cold here. We are almost done putting away the Christmas decorations. Had a few obstacles. Drove Grandma down to Florida for her annual winter get away. She is amazing. 89 next week and still trucking right along. I also had eye surgery that kept me down for a little while. Things are good to go, so if you're looking for something to do, visit the Walker House for a get away and some winter fun. Mention the blog and get 10% off.

Freshening up!

Over the past month we've been working hard to update and improve the appearance of the Walker House. We really appreciate a fine paint job by Bill Senkowski of Hancock. We strongly recommend him to others considering having their home or business painted. In addition, we are really proud of the new Walker House sign secured through Barb Brinkmann of Barb's Interior Design of Cedarburg, Wisconsin. All this complements the signage for the Walker House created by Taj and Tom Schumacher. We are continuing to create new recipes for breakfast, as well as a variety of hors d'oeuvres and wines for our guests enjoyment.
